If you live in Thornton you are closer to us than almost anyone. That sounds like a convenience point. It is actually the reason the one-dress-per-school register works as well as it does round here.

Same town, same schools, same prom

Thornton and Cleveleys are one town with two names on the postcode. Your year group is our year group. When a girl walks in and tells us her school, there is a good chance we already have three of her classmates written into the register against dresses they have chosen.

That is a real advantage if you come early and a real problem if you leave it. There is no ambiguity about whether someone else might turn up in your dress — we can tell you exactly which gowns are still free for your prom before you try a single one on.

Getting to us from Marsh Mill and the village

From the Marsh Mill end it is a five-minute drive down to the seafront, or the 14 bus along Fleetwood Road. Thornton Gate is the nearest tram stop if you want to come along the coast. Plenty of our Thornton families simply walk it when the weather behaves.

We are on Victoria Road West, the main street through Cleveleys, upstairs from Bridal by Brittany Ann. There is parking on the surrounding streets and in the town centre car parks.

Come twice, it is allowed

Because you are so close, we would rather you came twice than agonised once. A lot of Thornton girls book an early look on their own or with a friend, go away and think, then come back with mum and a shortlist. Both appointments are free and neither is a commitment.

Booking from Thornton

We are open Tuesday to Saturday, 10am to 5pm, by appointment only. Our ordering cut-off for the following summer's prom is the end of February — after that we can only sell what is already hanging on the rail.

Questions we get asked

How long does it take to get to you from Thornton?

Five minutes or so by car from the Marsh Mill end, less from the Cleveleys side. Thornton Gate is the nearest tram stop, and a fair few of our Thornton families walk it.

Half my year group goes to my school. Does the register still work?

That is exactly when it matters most. Every gown is written against one school and one prom year, in every colour. The closer your year group lives to us, the more likely it is that someone has already been in — so booking early genuinely changes what you can choose from.

Can I pop in for a quick look before bringing my mum?

Yes, and lots of girls do. Book a first appointment on your own or with a friend, then a second with whoever needs convincing. Both are free and nothing is held until you decide.
