Booking a fitting
Every gown here leads to a fitting rather than a checkout. Here is exactly what that involves, so you know what you are booking.

Before you arrive
Two things help enormously, and neither is essential.
- Know your school and prom year. That is how the register works. Tell us when you book and we will only put gowns on the rail that are still available to your year group.
- Save a few favourites. Have a look through the collection and note the style numbers you like. We will have them waiting.
What happens at the appointment
- We talk first — the prom, the venue, what you had in mind, and just as usefully, what you know you do not want.
- We pull the rail together. Some of what you try will be your picks, some will be ours. The one people choose is very often the one they would have walked past.
- You try them properly, with help, in a room that is yours. No queue outside the curtain.
- When you find the one, we register it — your dress, your school, your prom year, in every colour.
Practical answers
How long?
Allow a comfortable hour or so. It is worth not booking something straight afterwards — these appointments are better unhurried.
Who can I bring?
Whoever's opinion you actually want. Mum, dad, gran, one friend, three. Tell us numbers when you book so we can set the room up.
What should I wear?
Something easy to get in and out of. Seamless underwear helps. If you already have shoes in mind, bring them — heel height changes everything about a hem.
What does it cost?
The appointment itself is free. Gowns vary, and we will always be straight with you about price before you fall for something.
When to book
As soon as your school confirms its prom date. Our ordering cut-off for the following summer is the end of February — after that we can only sell what is already on the rail. Appointments for the following summer open the autumn before, and the popular gowns get registered school by school over the winter.
Every year, someone comes in during March with a photo on their phone of a dress we can no longer order. It is the worst part of the job and it is entirely avoidable.

Do I have to book, or can I walk in?
Please book. We are appointment-only so the fitting room is yours and your favourites are on the rail before you arrive. Call 01253 857313 or book online.
Is there a charge for the appointment?
No. The fitting is free — you are only ever paying for a gown, and only if you choose one.
How many people can I bring?
Bring whoever's opinion you actually want. Just let us know numbers when you book so we can set the room up properly.
What if I am not ready to choose on the day?
That is completely fine. Nothing is registered until you say yes. If you want to think, think — but be aware that a gown is only held once it is registered to you.

Appointments for Prom 2027 are open now and fill up as soon as schools confirm their dates.
