Our Prom Trunk Show is Coming: 27th – 31st October

Five days. Our full prom collection. Plus 50 extra dresses straight from the designer. If there is one week to come and find your prom dress, this is it.

From Tuesday 27th to Saturday 31st October, we're hosting our Prom Trunk Show — and for those five days only, our showroom will be holding far more than usual. Alongside every dress in our permanent collection, the designer is sending us an additional 50 gowns that we don't normally stock. Styles we've never had on the rails before. Colours we can't usually offer. Shapes you won't find anywhere else in the area. Then, on the Saturday evening, they go back.

What is a trunk show, exactly?

It's a question we get asked a lot, so let's clear it up.

A trunk show is when a designer sends a selection of their gowns to a boutique for a short, fixed window of time. It's a chance to see and try on dresses that aren't part of our year-round collection — pieces we'd otherwise only be able to show you in a lookbook. For you, it means one thing: more choice, in one visit. Instead of narrowing down from what's on the rail, you'll be choosing from our collection and fifty extra gowns, all in the same appointment. It's the widest selection we'll have all season.

Why October is the right time to look. We know prom feels a long way off in October. Half term has only just started, the summer term is a distant thought, and it's tempting to leave it until the new year.

Here's the honest answer as to why that's a mistake.

Prom dresses are made to order, and lead times run to several months. Leaving it until spring means limited options, rushed alterations, and — for a lot of girls — settling for something that wasn't the first choice. Coming in October means you choose the dress you actually want, with plenty of time for it to be made and fitted properly. No panic. No compromise. Our ordering cut off date is February half term. After this, the options will be from our samples, meaning it needs to be the right size for you!

And because the trunk show falls in half term week, there's no school to work around.

A reminder about our one dress per school policy!

This is the part we'd ask you to read carefully, because it's the thing that makes us different — and it's the reason the trunk show matters so much. We only ever sell one dress per style, per school. Once a gown has been chosen by a girl from your school, that dress is retired for your school. It will not be sold again to anyone else attending the same prom. We keep a record of every dress and every school, and we don't make exceptions.

It means you will not walk into your prom and see your dress on someone else. No matching photos. No awkward moment in the doorway. The dress you choose is yours, and yours alone, on the night.

What it also means is that timing genuinely counts. When a dress goes, it's gone for your school. During a trunk show — with fifty extra gowns and five days of appointments — dresses are reserved quickly. The girls who come early get the full run of the collection.

Choosing a prom dress isn't a transaction, and we don't treat it like one. For a lot of our customers, this is a day out — daughter, mum, maybe a grandma or a sister.

You'll have someone to help you in and out of the gowns, and honest advice about fit, comfort and what will actually work for a full evening of dancing and photographs. We'll talk you through sizing, alterations, timescales and costs before you commit to anything. There's no pressure, and no rushing you towards the most expensive dress on the rail.

Mums — we know the questions you'll want answered. Bring them. We'd far rather you left with the full picture. Appointments are essential. Our trunk show is by appointment only. With fifty additional gowns in the boutique and five days to fit everyone in, we're keeping numbers deliberately low so that every girl gets proper time and our full attention. Appointments will be limited, and half term week books up faster than any other week of the year.

A quick note on our samples: because these gowns are tried on by lots of girls before they're ordered, we ask that everyone comes to their appointment freshly showered and ready — it helps us keep every dress in perfect condition.

A few things worth knowing before you come:

Wear or bring nude, seamless underwear — it makes a real difference to how the gowns sit.

Bring shoes with roughly the heel height you're planning for the night, if you have them. Bring people who's opinions you value the most. Have a rough budget in mind, and tell us. We'll only show you dresses within it. Come with an open mind. The dress most girls fall in love with is almost never the one they walked in intending to try. We will see you in October!
