Every other day of the year you need an appointment to get through the door. On Sunday 18 October we are throwing it open instead. Come and walk the rails, see what over a hundred gowns look like hung in colour order, and find out what is still free at your school. No booking, no stylist waiting on you, no reason to say anything to anyone.

One thing to know: nobody is trying dresses on
The Dress Rehearsal is a looking day, not a fitting day. The fitting rooms stay shut, because with this many people in at once it would be chaos and nobody would get the appointment they deserve.
You can see every gown, hold things up against you and ask us anything. Then if you find the one, we will book you a private fitting there and then, usually for the following week, and that is when you get the room, the mirror and a stylist to yourself.
Why we are doing it
Look before you book
Booking a prom fitting is a commitment, and plenty of girls put it off because they are not sure we will have their colour, or their shape, or anything they actually like. Fair enough. Come and check first.
No pressure
Walk the rails at your own pace. Look at everything, say nothing, leave whenever you want. Honestly.
No cost
It is free to come and free to eat. If you do fall for something, we will book you a proper private fitting there and then.
On the day
A hundred gowns, out on the floor
There will be balloons outside, the full rails inside and a handful of local suppliers on hand if you want to ask them anything. Or you can ignore all of us and just look at dresses. Both are allowed.

Your school, checked on the spot
Tell us your school and we will tell you what is still open there. The one dress per school promise runs all year, so the earlier you look, the more of the rail is genuinely yours.

Dutch pancakes
Made fresh in the boutique and handed round all afternoon. They are as good as they sound, and they are the main reason our own families are coming.

Mocktails, and fizz for the mums
Soft drinks and mocktails for everyone, and a glass of prosecco for whoever drove you. Nothing alcoholic goes to anyone under 18, so please do not ask us to.

Permanent jewellery
The bracelet that gets welded on and stays on. A lovely thing to do with your prom group, and you can have it done on the day or take a voucher for later.

Hair and makeup
A local hairstylist and a makeup artist on hand to talk through what actually works for prom night, with your dress and your hair, and to answer the questions Pinterest cannot.
More suppliers are still being confirmed, including a photographer and a videographer. We will add them here as they say yes.
How the day works
There is not much to it

Pop your name down
It takes about twenty seconds and there is nothing to print. It only tells us roughly how many people to expect, so we know how much to buy in and how many pancakes to ask for.

Turn up whenever
Any time between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 18 October. Look for the balloons on Victoria Road West. Prom is upstairs, bridal is on the ground floor, and you are welcome in both.

Walk the rails, chat to the suppliers if you fancy it. Nothing gets tried on today, so there is nothing to queue for. If you see the one, we will register it to your school and book you a private fitting for another date.

This is not a ticket, it is not a booking and it is not a fitting. Nobody will check anything at the door, and nobody is trying dresses on. It is purely so Brittany knows whether to cater for twenty or a hundred.

That is everything. There is nothing to print and nothing to show us on the door, so just turn up any time between 11am and 3pm and look for the balloons.
Bring whoever you like with you, and tell the girl in your year who has not started looking yet. The more the merrier, genuinely.

The questions everyone has
Can I try dresses on?
No, and this is the one thing worth knowing before you set off. The fitting rooms are closed for the day. With this many people in the boutique at once, try-ons are not possible and nobody would get the appointment they deserve. You can see every gown, hold them up and ask about anything, and if you find the one we will book you a private fitting there and then, usually for the following week.
Do I need a ticket?
No. Registering just tells us roughly how many people to expect so we know how much to buy in. There is nothing to print, nothing to show on the door, and you are very welcome to walk in on the day without registering at all.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Entry is free and so is the food. Some of the suppliers offer things you can buy on the day, permanent jewellery for instance, but nothing is expected of you and nobody will push anything.
What time should I arrive?
Any time between 11am and 3pm on Sunday 18 October 2026. There are no time slots, so come when it suits you and stay as long as you like.
Can I bring my mum and my friends?
Please do. Bring your mum, your nan, your whole prom group. Just let us know roughly how many of you there will be when you register, so we can plan for it.
Does the one dress per school promise still apply?
Yes, exactly as it does the rest of the year. Nothing is held just because you liked it at the open day. But if you decide on the day, we register your gown to your school and prom year there and then, and from that moment no other girl at your school can have it, in any colour.
Is it just prom, or bridal too?
It is one open day across the whole building. The prom rails are upstairs and our sister boutique, Bridal by Brittany Ann, is on the ground floor. You are welcome in both, whichever one you came for.
Where do I park?
There is free on-street parking on Victoria Road West and the surrounding streets, and a car park a short walk away on Rough Lea Road. Sunday is the easiest day of the week for it.
